  1. Typesetter PC is a page layout program that gives you WYSIWYG
  2. capability in designing a single page and prints it out in the
  3. highest resolution achievable on a 9-pin dot matrix printer. 
  4. Fonts and graphics can be mixed anywhere on the page.  Fonts can
  5. be italicized, inversed, made bold and more.  A fully featured
  6. graphics program including such tools as pencil, k-line, circle,
  7. rectangle and spline is part of Typesetter PC.  There are many
  8. onscreen help menus that list these functions.  The manual
  9. (TYPESET.DOC) has a detailed description of all the functions.

  11. We have released CGA version 1.8 and Hercules version 1.7 of
  12. Typesetter PC as shareware.  These versions allow you to use
  13. proportionally spaced fonts as well as flip and inverse sections
  14. of the Typesetter page.

  16. The Shareware version of Typesetter PC is a fully functioning
  17. program.  XLENT has distributed it on two disks so that we can
  18. include as many fonts as possible.  To make a working copy of
  19. Typesetter PC for system, please do the following:
  20.  
  21. 1.  Format a blank disk.  This is your WORK disk.
  22.  
  23. 2.  If you have a CGA, EGA or VGA system, copy the following
  24. files from the distribution disks to your WORK disk:
  25.  
  26.      CEKE.EXE
  27.      CBEAM.EXE
  28.      TS_CGA.BAT
  29.  
  30. If you have a Hercules system, copy the following files from the
  31. distribution disks to your WORK disk:
  32.  
  33.      HEKE.EXE
  34.      TS_HERC.BAT
  35.  
  36. 3.  Now copy the following files to your WORK disk:
  37.  
  38.      METAWNDW.EXE
  39.      All files ending with '.FNT'
  40.      All files ending with '.VEC'
  41.      All files ending with '.ICN'
  42.  
  43. Your WORKing disk is complete.  To run Typesetter PC, please
  44. execute the file with the '.BAT' file extension.

  67. Q:  What files do I need to run Typesetter PC?
  68. A:  The shareware version of Typesetter PC is distributed on 2
  69. disks.  Disk 1 contains the following files:

  73.      TSI.EXE
  74. Disk 2 contains the following files:

  86. Q:  Why isn't there a screen capture utility for the Hercules
  87. version?
  88. A:  HBEAM is the Hercules version equivalent to the CBEAM screen
  89. capture utility.  When we decided to distribute Typesetter PC as
  90. shareware, we wanted to fit everything on 2 disks without having
  91. to compress any files since we personally dislike having to
  92. uncompress files to try out software we might not like.  All the
  93. extra utility files wouldn't fit, so we opted to distribute the
  94. ones we thought everyone would use.  We've put together a disk of
  95. extra Typesetter utilities, including HBEAM, that we will send to
  96. registering users.  Other utilities include conversion from
  97. Typesetter format to PC Paintbrush format and vice versa, and
  98. print pages to HP Laserjet and Prowriter printers.  If you're not
  99. ready to register, we'll send you this utility disk for $5.00. 
  100. When you decide to become a registered user for $30.00, we'll
  101. give you a $5 credit.

  103. Q:  Why does Typesetter lockup when I try  to run it?
  104. A:  Typesetter PC is designed to run without memory resident
  105. utilities installed.  Boot your system up with just DOS and then
  106. run Typesetter.

  108. Q:  Why doesn't my mouse work?
  109. A:  The mouse is only active when you are in the Graphics mode. 
  110. Typesetter PC is using the mouse drivers built into the
  111. Metawindow software.  If you can't get your mouse to work using
  112. the menu choices, try this if you are running the CGA version. 
  113.      1.  Load in the mouse driver.  
  114.      2.  Load in Typesetter using the batch file.
  115.      3.  Select F7, the 'NO Mouse' option fom the mouse menu.
  116. Your mouse should now work when in the Graphics mode.  This fix
  117. is currently not available in the Hercules version.
